Movin' On Up, Part II

"Welcome to your new place, baby--it's fantastic! Garbage collection is Monday. If you want to throw out a box, you have to cut it up."

The lounge.

The view from the balcony. The tall building with the cylindrical top is Tower 42, and through the trees you can see the outline of the Gherkin. Just beyond the trees is Bunhill Field.

The steps. You enter on the top level, where there is a bedroom and bathroom, and then go downstairs to the lounge and kitchen.

The bedroom: King mattress, queen frame. That situation has been rectified.

It's been a whirlwind week, to say the least. We have belongings scattered in two flats, although that should be fixed by the end of the weekend. Oh, and did I mention I had surgery on Monday?

Is that a dead plant in the bedroom window? Did that come with the flat?

I'll bet they moved the dead plant from their other flat?

The dead plant left with the landlord, so we have no plants to kill just yet. I'd like to do an herb garden on the balcony, however.

I should mention that there are two bedrooms. One is on the upper level, and one on the lower, although the one on the upper level is getting slowly consumed by bicycle gear ...

I'm confused by the middle picture - the one with the stairs. Is the picture on the wall or on the floor? I can't quite get the perspective. And did the picture come with the flat or did you put it there?

You're looking up the stairs. The stairs spiral around 180 degrees, so you see the painting as you come down the stairs. It comes with the flat.

Is the apartment furnished then, or are you bringing in your own things?
