My little Kansas roses were more beautiful in October and early November than they were in June. It was that kind of summer. This is gorgeous! I can remember Christmases in D.C. when the roses at the cathedral were still blooming.
My rosebush has a number of buds on it, about to bloom! I'm not sure why. I also have a bluebonnet that just came up. Maybe the seasons have turned around? I've heard the earth's due for a polarity switch any day now.
Very interesting. The rosebushes in the Smithsonian gardens always have blooms into November--though this year, because of early frosts, they haven't fared so well. I had no idea that roses bloomed so late in England.
