We may get your cast-off Simpsons, but ...
We were the first to see this:
NEW YORK - Ever wonder what Bart Simpson would look like in human form? The longrunning animated Fox series "The Simpsons" is about to show you. The series will unveil a live-action opening sequence Sunday, 8 p.m. EST, a Fox spokeswoman announced Thursday. ...
A team from British network Sky One created and commissioned the live sequence, which apes the long-running series' memorable opening shots: Bart writing on the chalkboard, Homer pulling the nuclear rod out of his shirt and Maggie and Marge at the supermarket, a Fox spokeswoman said.

Hi, Smitty! Nice to see you! I was talking about you on Eschaton today, on a dead thread. Partially I was giving some static to one of the trolls who was acting all concern-like and asking howzacome we all march in lockstep with Democratic Party talking points (*snicker giggle*). I said that considering that a truckload of us regulars on the board aren't even Americans, or aren't even living in the US, that was kind of laughable.
How are you liking Merrie Olde Engelaunde?
If you think about it, we've actually had live-action Simpsons movies for decades. They're called The Films of John Waters. BTW, did you hear about Isaac Hayes quitting South Park in a huff over Matt & Trey making fun of Scientology, and their getting revenge by turning Chef into a pedophile, throwing him off a cliff and having him devoured by a cougar and a grizzly?
I understand he's coming back as Darth Chef.
Clever, but it's the sort of thing that turns me off of that show ...
Matt & Trey have always been, to put it mildly, mean-spirited. That's why I can only watch the show occasionally. They're funny as hell, but their rancor knows no bounds. Matt & Trey are eternal 13-year-olds, which is both their blessing and their curse.
Well, since this is all on FOX, I'm sure the actors will all work for Halliburton.
They showed the live version as the intro to last night's show--weird!
