Snow Joke

There's snow ...

And then there's snow ...

And then there's snow:

Thanks to reader Schmutz for sending me these photos taken yesterday at the Schmutz Family Compound, somewhere in the Midwest of the United States. To any Londonders who read, the bottom two photos are from a real blizzard, what a city-stopping snowstorm should look like.

Our snow is nothing compared to Upstate New York. I can't even imagine ten feet of snow. However, it is pretty after the blizzard when the sun comes out - cold but pretty.

Yep, that's how I remember the midwest winters. It sure is pretty, at least for now! And it made for a lot of fun as a kid. I particularly remember a year when school was canceled and the neighbor kids arrived to help us dig tunnels through the snow. Now it sounds dangerous, but back then it was a lot of fun!

Those are lovely snow pictures, Schmutz! My Dallas picture wasn't nearly as good :)

Sarah, you work with what you have. I thought your snowy bush picture was beautiful. Today we're getting more snow - the light, gently falling kind. Our pine windbreak looks quite wintery. And our lane is drifted in again so we are snowbound. Ask SSMom about being snowbound at our house.
