English As A Second Language: At World's End

Minging: Ugly. It can be used, impolitely, to describe a person or, more politely, conditions.

You might refer to somebody who tried to pick you up at a pub as a "minger," such as these, or you might refer to the conditions on, let's say, Monday night as "minging."

What a great word! "Oh, you're such a minger" said in a pleasant tone of voice would be a great way to insult someone without them knowing it - at least here in the Midwest. Also, a great word for the current weather - "This weather is so minging."
