Over the Sea to Skye

Howdy. The Werbenmanjensens just got back from a week on the Isle of Skye in Scotland, bracketed at either end by a trip via the Caledonian Sleeper. The brief rundown:

1. Visit to the battlefield at Culloden.
2. Overnight in Inverness
3. Driving to Skye, with a stop at Urquhart Castle.
4. A walk of Scorrybreac in ocassionally bucketing rain.
5. Boat tour of Portree harbor in, um, rather rough conditions, although we did see a sea eagle.

6. A hike up Blaven, the story of which may become an epic poem.
7. A day of sightseeing on the north end of the island, taking in the Old Man of Storr, Flora MacDonald's grave, and assorted sights along the way.
8. A drive back to Inverness, taking in a few sights along the way, including Eilean Donan Castle.
9. The sleeper home.
There is much to write, and many photos to download, but as we just got back into the flat an hour ago, I think I'll just let it digest. The photos you see here may whet your curiosity a little.

I remember looking at a rainbow over Urquhart Castle, but it was closed by the time we got there... so we just spent our time searching for Nessie.
